Many new features and improvements around WearSocials

I will wrap up all the changes to WearSocials that I've made in recent weeks. WearSocials has reached a much larger audience than before, and I love seeing it grow. To support this growth, I've been making many improvements and adding some new features as well. Now let's take a look at the specifics. 😉

WearSocials

Scan Screen & Scan History

There are two new screens visible. One fulfills the purpose of letting you scan and immediately add the scanned codes to your history to check out later. You have functionalities like enabling the flashlight, switching the camera, and switching between single code and batch code mode scanning. With the batch code mode, you can scan as many codes as you need in a short period. In the single code mode, you can scan one code, and it will be displayed right away.

When you view any code from your scan history, you can see the standard view screen of a code, with the option to move it to your codes. You might want to do this if one of the codes you have scanned is something you want to keep for longer and for yourself.

Improved Wear-OS App Design

The Wear OS app for WearSocials now displays a preview for the type of code and shows the amount that exists for each type. If you scroll (or quick-tap) through them, you will eventually see the scan history in case you want to display a recently scanned code.

Wear-OS Tile

There's a new list-styled tile for the Wear-OS app that displays the top 3 codes. Additionally, just like the bubbles for the codes, an additional tile is available for displaying all the latest scan history.

App Widgets

Users can now have quick access via a widget. The shortcuts "Scan," "Codes," and "History" are available, which respectively navigate to the scan screen, codes screen, and scan history screen.

The widgets for codes got a slight design update.

And just like the codes widget, there's a new widget for the scan history to quickly access or view any scanned code.

App Notifications

Users can now have quick access via a permanent notification. The shortcuts "Scan," "Codes," and "History" are available, which respectively navigate to the scan screen, codes screen, and scan history screen.

With the permanent notification for codes, you can display your favorite codes and view them with a click right away. You can expand the notification to see more codes.

With the permanent notification for scan history, you can display your last scanned codes and view them with a click right away. You can expand the notification to see more codes.

App Quick Tiles

Users can now have quick access via a static quick tile right from their notification center's quick tiles. The shortcuts "Scan," "Codes," and "History" are available, which respectively navigate to the scan screen, codes screen, and scan history screen.

Additionally, there are 10 slots available for "X. Code," which is a quick action to the respective code position of your codes. A click on it will view that respective code right away.

Other

  • As requested by user feedback, Telegram code support was added. Users can now create codes that let people who scan them quickly drop you a message on Telegram. It supports phone numbers, usernames, and predefined messages.

  • Fixed an issue that prevented code creation when content was shared with WearSocials.

  • Fixed a missing push notification request that prevented users from receiving reminder notifications from codes.

  • Fixed various other small issues.

That's it. See you next time! Take a look at my current projects. ⬇️
