Both of my Android apps — Awake and Widgetify — were showcased in a recent video titled "Top 15 Best Android Apps — September 2025!"
Watch the video:
"Next up is Awake. And this might just be the best new alarm clock app that you can get. It looks a lot like the Google Clock app, which is great cuz it feels familiar, but it's packed with features designed to actually get you out of bed."
"It has these things called missions that you can add to any alarm. For the free version, you can do stuff like solve a math problem, memorize tile positions, or even just shake your phone to stop the alarm. But the premium missions are where things get really wild. It can make you do things like get up and scan a specific object in the house with AI, or even prove that you turned on a light, show your face, and smile to turn it off. Hell, there's even a knockoff Flappy Bird game that you have to play and try to beat. It's absolutely ridiculous and will 100% wake you up."
"It's also got a ton of other cool stuff like a sleep scheduleuler that helps you aim for a certain numbers of sleep hours, uh, shows you all your upcoming events, lets you make quick alarms, too. basically like alarm timers and even has a slick timer and stopwatch design that honestly I think looks way better than Google's. That's just the tip of the iceberg, though. There are so many more features packed into this app. And yeah, some features are behind a subscription, but the developer was actually nice enough to give me 250 promo codes to share my Patreon. So, yeah, that's four free apps already if you've been keeping count."
"Spotify's own widgets are still pretty bad. They're huge, not very customizable, and the button layout is just awkward. Plus, most of us change tracks from the notification shade or the lock screen anyway. Instead, you should just check out Widgetify for Spotify. It lets you put your favorite music, playlist, and podcast directly on your home screen. You can display them in clean grid layouts, and the widgets are extremely resizable. You can even create smart collections to organize playlists by your mood, genre, or what you're doing, and they update automatically. It's perfect for anyone who wants faster access to their tunes. Plus, it's adree and free to download."
